Dr Ivan Niranjan Lectures in Occupational Health and Safety to undergraduate and post graduate students at the Durban University of Technology, previously worked for the government regulator enforcing legislation on Occupational Health and Safety.

My teaching philosophy is underpinned in constructivism linked to technology where students develop there own knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety by experiencing first hand visits to the mines, power stations, motor industries, arms manufacturers, transport industries, chemical industries.

Lectures in class are applied to industrial visits thereby engaging students in real time settings. He holds a D. Tech Quality Management from Durban University of Technology, worked for 12 in the Department of Employment and Labour in Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal and Eastern Cape. Over the last 20 years he is employed at the Durban University of Technology as lecturer in Occupational Health and Safety.
